The Buckeye State Tree Nursery and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources are committed to making this online store usable by everyone.

Our commitment

We want every Ohioan to be able to browse seedlings, place an order, and track it — regardless of ability or the technology they use. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we work to remove barriers as we build and improve the store.

Standards we follow

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including limited vision, hearing, mobility, and cognitive differences.

What we do

  • Use clear headings and page structure so screen readers can navigate the store.
  • Support keyboard-only navigation through browsing, cart, and checkout.
  • Aim for color contrast that meets AA thresholds, and never rely on color alone to convey meaning.
  • Provide text alternatives for meaningful images and labels for form fields.
  • Respect your system's reduced-motion setting and keep animation minimal.

We test as we add features, so some areas may improve ahead of others.
